Privacy Policy

• Account data: email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), date of birth, your side (sugar mommy or seeking), city and preferences.
• Profile data: photos, headline, About me, what you are looking for, lifestyle interests and the filters you use.
• Verification data: an image of your government photo ID and a selfie, used to confirm your age and identity.
• Messages and activity: conversations, likes, profile views, reports and blocks.
• Payment data: plan, billing period and payment status. Card numbers are handled by the payment operator and never stored by us.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and the essential cookies described below.
• If you build a profile preview before signing up: the answers you enter and the generated draft, linked to your session.

• To create and run your account and show your profile to other members according to your settings.
• To verify that every member is 18 or older and is the person in their photos.
• To provide search, daily matches and messages.
• To keep the community safe: review reports, detect scams and requests for payment for company, and enforce our rules.
• To process your membership payments and keep the records the law requires.
• To send service emails such as your confirmation code, verification updates and security notices.

We use your data on the basis of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe, our legal obligations and, where needed, your consent.

Profiles can reveal information about your private life, such as your dating preferences. You choose what to put on your profile, and you can use private mode, private albums and incognito browsing to limit who sees it. We never sell your data and never use your messages for advertising.

We share data only with service providers that help us run Sugar, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• a hosting provider for our servers and databases,
• an identity verification provider that checks your ID and selfie,
• a payment operator that processes membership payments,
• an email delivery provider for service emails,
• a text model provider used to draft your profile text, when you ask for a draft.

We also disclose data to authorities when the law requires it, for example in cases involving minors or human trafficking. Other members see only what your profile and privacy settings allow.

Some providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, we use safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.

• Account and profile data: while your account exists, then deleted within 30 days.
• ID and selfie images: deleted within 30 days after verification is completed; we keep only the result of the check and its date.
• Messages: while both accounts exist, and removed when you delete your account.
• Reports and records of rule violations: up to 3 years, to keep removed members from returning.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Sugar uses only essential cookies: your login session, security protection for forms and your basic preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California and other US states have the right to know, delete and correct their data and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context advertising. To use any right, email [email protected] from the address of your account. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, restricted staff access and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Sugar is only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and accounts of anyone under 18 are deleted.
